About

The World of Coonoor, created in 2020, is a space seen through my eyes—a collection of experiences, stories, and reflections shaped by life in the hills.

Coonoor is a hill station in the southern state of India, nestled in the Western Ghats within the Nilgiri Hills—often called the “Blue Mountains” for the soft bluish tinge they take on when viewed from a distance. Known for its rolling tea estates, misty landscapes, and slow-paced charm, Coonoor and the wider Nilgiris district hold a quiet beauty that goes far beyond what meets the eye.

Through this website, I aim to create awareness about Coonoor’s rich heritage, local community initiatives, and the importance of responsible tourism. This space encourages mindful travel, cleanliness, respect for nature, and meaningful engagement with the town and its people. I also hope to inspire support for local causes—through donations, community participation, and conscious choices that help preserve the hills we call home.

This is not just a guide to visiting Coonoor, but an invitation to understand it, respect it, and give back to it—so the Blue Mountains remain just as magical for generations to come.
